This weekend saw the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 paddock at Sepang, Malaysia for the penultimate round of the 2015 season, where SHARK-supported riders took a double win.
2015 Moto2 champion Johann Zarco took his eighth win and his 14th podium of the season, equalling Marc Marquez (2012) and Tito Rabat’s (2014) record for podiums in an intermediate season. Zarco started the weekend by smashing Pol Espargaro’s 2012 lap record in FP3 before battling race-long with Thomas Luthi, making the decisive move on the last lap.
Fellow SHARK rider Sam Lowes was running well in seventh place but slipped back down the field, struggling with what appeared to be technical issues. The Brit made a late comeback to finish 13th.
Miguel Oliveira kept his title hopes alive for another week with his fifth win of the season. Oliveira was involved in a seven-way battle for the top positions for most of the race before making the move for the lead on the last lap, taking the win by just 0.089 seconds from teammate Brad Binder.
In a MotoGP race dominated by the controversial clash between Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi, Aleix Espargaro took his 11th top-ten finish of the season crossing the line in seventh. Scott Redding rode a consistent race and finished just outside the top-ten in 11th.
The MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 paddock will head to Valencia for the final round of the 2015 season on 6 – 8 November.
