This weekend saw the MotoGP paddock head to Valencia for the final round of the 2015 season for the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 Championships.
Miguel Oliveira went into the final Moto3 race with a mathematical possibility of winning the championship and did all he could to make it reality. Oliveira took the race lead into the first corner and didn’t look back until the chequered flag was waved. Unfortunately for the Portuguese rider Danny Kent finished in ninth taking the championship title, leaving Oliveira with the runner-up spot.
Johann Zarco, 2015 Moto2 Champion, set a new intermediate class points record with 352 points after finishing seventh in the race. Fellow SHARK-supported rider Sam Lowes ended the year fourth in the riders standings after a strong ride from tenth on the grid to fifth at the finish line.
In the final MotoGP race of the year, Aleix Espargaro started strong in fourth but was unable to fend off attacks from Rossi and Smith. Espargaro crossed the finish line in eighth, finishing the season 11th in the riders championship. Scott Redding’s 15th place finish meant that the Brit ended the year in 13th in the riders championship.
